This is a copy of the C2Net Press Release from 22 Jun 1998
Oakland, CA (June 22, 1998)--C2Net Software, Inc. today announced it
has become an Artisan Plus member of the Silicon Graphics Developer
Program. "We endeavor to provide our customers with top-quality support,
and working closely with SGI will enable us to better respond to the needs
of our customers using the SGI platforms." said C2Net's Vice President
of Development, Doug Barnes. "Thanks to the excellent assistance we've
already received from SGI, we completed a recent port of our Stronghold
secure web server to SGI's newest UNIX operating system, IRIX 6.5,
in record time," he added.
C2Net's Stronghold web server is a secure implementation of Apache, the
most popular web server on the Internet. Stronghold combines the power
and flexibility of Apache with a proven, robust, 128-bit implementation
of the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) protocol used to protect sensitive
communications over the Web. According to C2Net president Sameer Parekh,
"Stronghold is fully compatible with Apache, which runs over half the
domains on the Internet, making it by far the most popular web server in
the world. That makes Stronghold the secure server of choice for serious
commercial sites like ISP's and ICP's," he said."
"We are very pleased to welcome C2Net as a Development Partner," said
Dave Boardman, Internet Market Development and Product Development
Manager at SGI. "Many ISP's and other high-demand customers use C2Net's
Stronghold web server for secure Web transactions. Our WebFORCE family
of scalable, high-performance equipment is designed to meet the needs
of those supersite customers, and C2Net's participation in our Developer
Program is another way for SGI to provide those customers with the best
possible solutions."
