This is a copy of the C2Net Press Release from 12 Jan 1998
RSA Data Security Conference, SAN FRANCISCO, CA, January 12, 1998 --
C2Net Software, Inc. today announced the creation of C2Net Europe, Ltd,
a new sales and development subsidiary headquartered in the United
Kingdom. C2Net Europe is now in charge of international sales and
distribution for C2Net's product line, a role previously performed for
the company by UK Web, Ltd.
"I am looking forward to being even more directly involved in the rapid
growth of the multinational C2Net organization," said Mark Cox, Managing
Director of C2Net Europe, Ltd. Prior to joining C2Net Europe, Mark Cox
was Stronghold Product Manager and Technical Director at UK Web. Mark
Cox and Paul Sutton, Technical Director for C2Net Europe, are both core
member of the Apache Group, the organization which develops and maintains
the Apache web server, the most popular web server in the world.
"Restructuring this part of our business as a direct subsidiary enables us
to more effectively service the cryptography needs of all our customers,
in every country," said Sameer Parekh, President of C2Net Software,
Inc. "In cooperation with UK Web, we have hired all UK Web employees
who were directly involved with our products, the Apache web server,
and the Apache Week newsletter," he added.
"We are happy to see how C2Net has rapidly grown from a very small
company to a very significant operation with offices in four countries
substantially funded through its retained earnings," said Rob Noble,
Finance Director for UK Web.
All existing Stronghold and SafePassage customers who have purchased
product from UK Web will now receive sales and support assistance directly
from C2Net Europe, Ltd. UK Web continues to act as a principle sales
agent for C2Net products outside of the US and Canada.
C2Net Software, Inc. (http://www.c2.net/) is the leading provider of
uncompromised network security software. Through its international
offshore development programs, all C2Net products are exempt from
U.S. government export restrictions, allowing the company to offer
uncrippled, strong cryptography solutions to customers worldwide. Its
Stronghold web server is the most popular secure web server in the world,
according to a survey by Netcraft, Ltd.
